The CaveHill

Cave Hill:

Outside of the city of Belfast, Northern Ireland there lies Cave Hill which is a large rocky hill that overlooks the entirety of Belfast. It offers a breathtaking view once the top of the hill is reached. I decided to traverse this hill with various friends as I knew it was going to be a long hike alone. With my group, it took us about 2 hours to reach the top of the Hill and another 2 to descend. However, the entrance to Cave Hill is a looped path, so I found it quite hard to get lost as long as the set path was followed. As I ascended the Hill, I saw that we were surrounded by all sorts of nature which made for a beautiful viewing experience. It was truly a breath of fresh air to be surrounded by all of it. Once I reached the top of the Hill, I was gifted with a beautiful sight of the city of Belfast it was truly breathtaking and a simple must-see within the United Kingdom.

The top of the hill is quite isolated, so I noticed how quiet it was compared to all the everyday chaos we are used to. It was a magnificent experience to sit around with friends enjoying the view and the experience of the hike. Within Cave Hill, there is also Cave Hill Castle which is a small castle that has been turned into a visitor Centre. I didn't enter the castle, but it was magnificent to see the outside area surrounding it as flowers bloomed around it. I would highly recommend people visit this wonderful place, however, I would recommend bringing a sufficient amount of water as it will be dehydrating.
